IMPROVEMENTS TO SERVE YOU BETTER
As things slowly return to normal at the Saint John Airport, behind the scenes we’ve been working hard to bring our passengers new improvements to serve you even better.
We’re delighted that Air Canada is back with daily flights to Montreal and Toronto, and Porter Airlines with service to Ottawa and Toronto Island Airport. Sunwing Airlines will return in February 2022, with direct-service to Varadero, Cuba.
FLAIR AIRLINES – AN ULTRA-LOW COST OPTION FOR SAINT JOHN
We are thrilled that Flair Airlines selected Saint John as their exclusive New Brunswick destination. With flights starting as low as $49, this ultra-low cost option allows Saint John travellers to fly to more places than ever before. Flair Airlines began operation at YSJ on July 3, 2021 and currently offers flight service from Saint John (YSJ) to Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) 2-times per week; and will increase to 3-times per week in March 2022.
THE CONVENIENCE OF COVID-19 TESTING IS NOW AVAILABLE AT YSJ
Many International destinations require proof of a negative COVID-19 test result in order to enter the country. Passengers travelling on to the Unites States and other International destinations now have a convenient way to book an appointment for a COVID-19 test to be administered on-site at the Saint John Airport. For more information or to book a COVID-19 test at the Saint John Airport visit www.distributionadvalorem.com or call (506) 638-5579.
FEWER FLIGHT DELAYS OR CANCELLATIONS DUE TO FOG
It’s official, YSJ has been certified by Transport Canada for low visibility take-offs (RVR 600), significantly reducing the chance of flight delays or cancellations due to poor weather conditions. We’re dedicated to enhancing passenger experience, and now with flights able to depart at visibility levels as low as 600 feet, delays due to fog will be rare. Saint John is the third foggiest airport in Canada, so this improvement is very good news for airlines, passengers, and the airport’s corporate customers headquartered in Saint John.
MORE IMPROVEMENTS TO COME THANKS TO $4.9M FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
On behalf of everyone at the Saint John Airport, I would like to express our whole-hearted thanks and appreciation to the federal government for the $4.9-million in funding; $1.1M in funding through the Airport Relief Fund and an additional $3.8M through the Regional Air Transportation Initiative. Through this funding, the federal government recognizes the vital function our airport plays in the economic growth of Southwestern New Brunswick, and the important role YSJ will play in our community’s post-pandemic recovery – in the months and years ahead. The funding will not only enable the Saint John Airport to recover from the negative economic impacts of COVID-19, it will help YSJ to emerge better than ever before – so that we can continue to provide safe and reliable travel options for our community.
On behalf of everyone at the Saint John Airport, I'd like to thank this community for your continued support as we strive to create an even better airport.
When you’re ready to fly, please support YOUR Saint John Airport.
