NEW BOARD MEMBER APPOINTMENT
SAINT JOHN, NB – Saint John Airport Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter G. Gaulton as a board director.

"With the COVID-19 crisis, the Saint John Airport is facing new challenges and a future of uncertainty unlike any time in the airport's history. Peter's financial acumen and business experience will be a real asset to the Board and the YSJ Management team during these difficult times.”
Mr. Gaulton was nominated as board director by the Province of New Brunswick, Minister of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure.
Born and raised in Saint John, NB, Peter was a sole accounting practitioner in Saint John from 1990 to 2020; offering services in auditing, accounting and taxation to a variety of clients including Construction, Retail, Non-profit, Real Estate Development, Manufacturing, and Transportation. In 2020, his accounting practice was merged with another CPA firm, JK Whittaker & Associates, where he presently works as a CPA.
Peter Gaulton is currently Vice-President Stakeholder and board member of ONE Change Inc., a registered charity with the simple mission of improving the quality of life of residents in the Old North End of Saint John. He is also currently Treasurer and board member of the Imperial Theatre Inc. He is a former Chair of the Saint John Port Authority. Peter has also been involved with numerous Boards, committees and charities including: Saint John Trade & Convention Centre Over Sight Committee, Joshua Group, Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation, Single Parents Resource Centre, P.R.I.D.E. Saint John, Saint John Hearing Society, Saint John Volunteer Centre, Union Club, N.B. Diagnostic Centre For Learning Disabilities, Saint John Learning Exchange, Saint John Transit, Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Lily Lake Pavilion Fund Raising Committee, and the Rotary Club Of Saint John.
Peter earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of New Brunswick. He also holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

There are currently 14 members on the Board of Directors responsible for providing The Saint John Airport Authority with governance to steer the organization’s operations and ensure fiscal responsibility.
In 1999, the Government of Canada transferred control and operation of the airport to Saint John Airport Inc., a self-funding, non-share, not-for-profit airport authority. The Airport has many stakeholders, including local communities served, air carriers, passengers, and local businesses. In accordance with normal corporate governance best practices, airports are managed by a Boards of Directors who provide appropriate oversight of the management team. Individuals who are appointed to the Airport's Board of Directors possess a broad range of skills, business experience and expertise. Aviation expertise is but one important skill set, however, others include engineering, legal, marketing, and financial accounting.
