Airport looks ahead to major infrastructure updates to maintain growth
Saint John, N.B.: Today at its Annual General Meeting, the Saint John Airport reported an all-time passenger record of 252,002 for 2015.
This is the fifth consecutive year the airport has reported passenger growth.
Based on studies commissioned last year, it is estimated that approximately $36 million will need to be invested within the next few years in order to maintain and improve the airfield for the long term. Additional capital expenditures will also be required on the Air Terminal Building and support services.
While the Airport has identified infrastructure projects as a primary focus for the immediate future, they are also exploring revenue diversification opportunities. “We have over 400 acres of land available for development”, says Mrs. McLean. “We are open to discussion on any and all land development possibilities.”
