SAINT JOHN, NB – Saint John Airport Inc. proudly hosts the 2018 COPA Convention & Tradeshow and their Annual Airport Community Day in June.

The 2018 COPA Convention & Tradeshow is being held for the first time in Saint John, New Brunswick June 21 to 23, 2018. This two-day event welcomes all aviators, aviation enthusiasts and future enthusiasts to the Saint John Airport. The Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) estimates that approximately 300 delegates and 100 aircraft will attend the event.

“Small airports and general aviation brings value to our communities,” said YSJ President and CEO Derrick Stanford. “The Saint John Airport is proud to host the 2018 COPA Convention & Tradeshow along with the Atlantic Flight Centre and Hilton Saint John.”

“General Aviation contributes approximately $9.3B annually to the Canadian economy,” said Bernard Gervais, President & CEO of COPA. “Each General Aviation aircraft provides for 0.6 direct Full Time-Equivalent jobs.”

The public is invited to view the aircraft on display during the last day of the event. A static display will be located on the grounds of the Saint John Airport at the Atlantic Flight Centre on Saturday June 23 from 12 pm to 4 pm.

The Saint John Airport hosts their Annual Community Day on Saturday, June 23 from 1 pm to 4 pm. This event is free for the whole family and features airplane displays, flight simulation demonstrations, live music, summer treats, local vendors and lots of fun activities for the kids.

Crowd-pleasing, New Brunswick based singer-songwriter, Mike Biggar will perform live. Kids will enjoy a giant inflatable bouncy castle, bubble soccer, a 40ft inflatable slide, and having their photo taken with Fleaburn, the Saint John Sea Dogs mascot. Carnival games, cotton candy, candy apples, popcorn, snow cones, hamburgers, and hot dogs will be available for a small fee. Rain or shine, it’s guaranteed to be a fun-filled day for the whole family.
