STANFORD APPOINTED TO BOARD OF THE INGENIUM FOUNDATION

SAINT JOHN, NB – The Saint John Airport Authority is delighted to announce that Derrick Stanford, President and CEO of the Saint John Airport, has been appointed to the Board of the Ingenium Foundation, effective January 1, 2021.

“We are delighted to welcome Derrick Stanford to our board,” said Ingenium Board Chair, Greg Mumford. “With his knowledge and experience in both the aviation and technology sectors, Derrick will be a real asset to the Ingenium Foundation.”

Ingenium Foundation is a national foundation supporting Canada’s three national science- and technology-based museums: The Canada Aviation and Space Museum, the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum as well as the Ingenium Centre. Together, Ingenium and its three museums are responsible for preserving Canada’s science and technological heritage, while also promoting, celebrating, and inspiring innovation.

The Ingenium Foundation’s vision is ‘Science for All’ – meaning every Canadian, regardless of their background, education, location, physical, cognitive and financial abilities feels empowered and valued in shaping the future of scientific knowledge, understanding and practice. The Foundation does this though four key areas:
• Inspiring Kids
• Sharing Science & Discovery
• Encouraging Innovation
• Protecting Heritage & Sharing Culture

Stanford joined the Saint John Airport as CEO in 2016 following a career of progressively senior management positions primarily in the technology sector. Last year, he was appointed President of the Atlantic Canada Airports Association (ACAA); an industry association that speaks on behalf of twelve airports in the Atlantic region and collaborates to promote the region and grow air access.

“I am honoured to play a role in the incredibly important work of the Ingenium Foundation,” said Stanford.
